The life that is waiting for you

There’s a quote that has always resonated with me and that is, “if you love something, set it free.” There are moments in our life when we reach some sort of milestone, a long-awaited dream comes to fruition, like we get accepted to our dream college or we get our dream job, and then we usually have to make a sacrifice to say “yes” to that which our heart desires most. Oftentimes, that sacrifice is letting go – of that which we are familiar with or of a life we have created for ourselves that may no longer serve us. “When one door closes another opens” is a great line from one of my favorite songs written by MC Yogi. In order for us to pursue our dreams, we usually have to let go of something, and sometimes that is painful. Goodbyes are never easy, especially if we are saying goodbye to someone, we love. Unfortunately, when we travel down a new road, we usually have to venture off our current one. It is hard but necessary. A friend told me recently, “ships can stay in the harbor but that’s not what they are built for,” or in other words you must be willing to take a risk and enter a new chapter. Take a leap of faith and find that life that is “waiting for you” as Joseph Campbell once said.

Bon Courage

Peace.
